Today we’re going to take a look at bike racks, (also known as cycle carriers). Bringing the bikes on holiday with you is a great way to explore the local area, keep the kids entertained and get a bit of fresh air and exercise. The added benefit of course is that a bike ride doesn’t cost anything!
There are two main ways to transport bikes, either on the roof or on the rear of the car.
- Roof mounted carriers all mount to Roof Racks, so you will need one of these first.
- Rear mounted carriers can either attach to the boot or rear door, the towbar or even the spare wheel on 4×4’s.
